International Sales Assistant

40 hours per week

Job description:

You support the Vice President Sales (Americas) and other members of the Sales Department by tracking, investigating and reporting on sales and resolving problems associated with the Sales Department’s operations.


This includes:

  • Updates VP Sales with analysis and daily action summaries
  • Principal contact for clients and potential clients; directs inquiries and pertinent information to relevant parties
  • Responds to and pursues new sales leads via email, telephone, and accompanies the VP Sales on personal visits
  • Facilitates meetings, conferences, and departmental activities by compiling and presenting sales data and analysis
  • Approves decisions, requests, expenditures, and recommendations on behalf of the VP Sales in his absence and according to established guidelines
  • Monitors and reports on sales activities, providing relevant information to management (e.g., sales reports)
  • Maintains software suitability for direct sales (e.g., handling and reporting)
  • Conducts market research, competitor analysis, and customer surveys
  • Provides product and pricing information in response to customer requests; identifies action items for the VP Sales and departmental staff
  • Organizes sample shipments to customers in consultation with the VP Sales
  • Oversees customer database by inputting customer profiles and updates; prepares and distributes monthly reports; liaises with colleagues responsible for order processing
  • Expands and refines skills through educational opportunities
  • Managing VP Sales ‘agenda and customer portfolios
  • Resolves order and inventory problems (e.g., expediting shipments, keeping customers and Sales Managers updated)
  • Assist with Exhibition arrangements and attend the Exhibitions with the VP Sales.
  • Responsible for the startup of a new account; customer catalog incl. pricing in liaison with DTP department, customer logo set-up / way of printing and inventory management of customer logo’s, specific customer requests are registered.
  • Other assigned duties in support of departmental and organizational directives
    Initiates corrective and preventive measures
  • Complies with the procedures and rules detailed in the company’s HQSE system



  • Associate degree and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written knowledge of English


  • Thorough knowledge of the maritime and offshore industries is preferred
  • Excellent skills in client services and in building long-term client relationships
  • Can demonstrate the ability to go the extra mile, to exceed expectations
