The Scandia Green Label Collection

We started our Green Label collection in 2019 as part of our commitment to making our product line more environmentally sustainable. The Green Label collection features products made using eco-friendly materials, such as organic cotton and PET polyester. Each product in the collection can be identified by the green label along its collar.

Green Label Products

- Our flagship Green Label product -
ScanOzone | S3 Safety Sneaker

This S3 safety footwear is partly made of recycled materials. ScanOzone's black neoprene sock collar, currently popular in sneaker design, and TPU speedlaces give the shoe its fashionable look. ScanOzone features an upper in 100% recycled PET, 95%-recycled PET midsole, 95%-recycled PU insock, recycled polyester laces, and recycled PU inlets, which are built into the outsole to reduce the shoe's weight.

ScanCovert | Anti-Slip Shoe Covers

Reusable, hygienic, durable and water-resistant. The upper is made sustainably from 100% recycled polyester and the bottom is made from 100% rubberised polyester. ScanCovert anti-slip shoe covers are the latest additions to the Scandia Green Label collection and will be sold alongside our disposable single-use ScanShoeCover Xtra.

Materials

PET POLYESTER

PET polyester is high-performance, eco-sustainable fabric made from recycled post-consumer polyester. Composed, entirely or in part, of laboratory test, high resistance PET yarn, this fabric is one of the sustainable materials featured in our Green Label collection. We believe in the importance of recycling materials, as well as a production model that respects the environment. Given the importance of material recycling in our supply chain and our sustainability initiative, PET polyester is an ideal choice. In addition to apparel production, we see uses for PET polyester in PPE production, for example in our ScanOzone safety shoe.

ORGANIC COTTON

The organic cotton we use is grown using eco-friendly methods and materials. These production processes ensure the sustenance of soil fertility, reductions in the use of pesticides and fertilisers, and the cultivation of biologically diverse agriculture.
Conventional methods for transforming cotton into industrial grade material often involve the use of toxic pesticides and dyes, genetically modified plants, and enormous amounts of water. We are especially motivated, then, to shift our textile production toward organic farming methods and materials.

Our timeline

The Product Innovation & Quality team together with our Sustainability team looked at where we could apply the demand for products that feature more sustainable choices. Together with our customers, we were able to see exactly what they need and where they would actually go for more sustainable options. By keeping a close eye on this, though, and by continuing to research and test, we have produced our first line of Green Label products.

Due to COVID-19, our timeline for making this first set of products available has been somewhat delayed. We are nonetheless committed to launching these products by the end of this year and next year. The following timeline gives an indication of when these articles can be expected.
