Scandia Gear Singapore | Update
In response to direction from Singapore's Health Ministry following the Ministry's announcement that Singapore has moved into "Phase 2 (Heightened Alert)", we are suspending visits to our showroom effective immediately and until further notice. In addition, office personnel will be working from home throughout "Phase 2", which takes effect May 16 and continues to June 13.
We will update you on the status of our administrative and warehouse operations once we have more information.

New year | New update
New measures against coronavirus are in place throughout the Netherlands.
With the current lockdown extended until February 9, our office personnel at HQ and our locations worldwide will continue to work from home.
Even with these restrictions, we do not foresee any disruption to the production and delivery of the apparel and PPE you and your workforces need.

Quick update | Scandia HQ
Just a quick update about how we at Scandia are adjusting to what appears to be a second COVID-19 wave.
With the Netherlands on Code Red and major cities, such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague, being hit the hardest, we have tightened up measures at our HQ offices and warehouse.
These measures are in accordance with directives from the Dutch government and will mean that Scandia employees will begin working from home as much as possible. To prevent cross-contamination, our warehouse operations will continue in shifts, from 06:00 to 12:00 and from 12:00 to 18:00.
While we do not anticipate that these measures will cause disruptions to order fulfillment or to our availability to you, we do think it is best to inform you of these new measures.

Here at Scandia Gear HQ, we continue to balance working from home and shift based office work.
That combination has so far defined our new normal and is a necessary step toward returning to full capacity.
Scandia Gear Houston's warehouse operations are staffed at 50% capacity and processing orders as scheduled; staff from Inside Sales continue their work from home. To protect the health and well-being of personnel, wearing masks is mandatory for everyone on site and common areas and equipment are cleaned at the end of each shift.
While we discourage order pickups at our offices and warehouses, if they are necessary, we ask that you contact your Scandia representative to schedule your pickup time and that you respect our safety measures while on site.
Our Singapore operations continue as they have, with office staff telecommuting and everyone looking forward to the start of the third and final phase of Singapore's reopening.
Please note: due to health regulations throughout the UAE, Scandia Gear Dubai will be closed until further notice.

Scandia Gear's Singapore branch will remain open
To limit the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), Singapore's government has enacted tighter regulatory measures. During this phase of Singapore's response to the virus outbreak, businesses designated non-essential will close for one month while businesses and services designated essential will remain open and will continue their work. Scandia Gear's Singapore branch (operating as Scandia Gear Asia Pte Ltd.) is among the businesses designated essential.
Between today, April 7, and May 4, Scandia Gear's Sales and Inside Sales teams will be working from home. With Scandia staff located across the globe, we have strengthened our IT infrastructures and put in place procedures and workflows to ensure there is little to no disruption of our business operations. To ensure on-time product deliveries, we ask you to place your orders as soon as your purchase quantities are confirmed.
Please note that since full staffing is not possible, we have temporarily suspended our custom logo service at our Singapore branch.
We kindly ask you to stay in contact with us to update us on the status of your operations and to let us know how we can help. Your Scandia contacts are, as always, available by telephone and email and requests for quotes and purchase orders will be processed without change.
While we hope that our preparedness, both in Singapore and worldwide, will eliminate delays and disruptions, we ask for your patience and understanding.

Scandia Gear Houston re-opens April 6th
Scandia’s work has been designated essential under Harris County's “Stay Home, Work Safe” order. We are pleased to announce that our Houston offices and warehouse will re-open Monday April 6, 2020. Ensuring the continued safety and health of our employees remains our priority while we supply our customers and their workforces with the personal protective equipment (PPE) and workwear essential to their safety and health.
Therefore, personnel at our Houston offices and warehouse will continue to follow the hygienic guidelines set by Public Health Officials to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Social distancing regulations will be strictly enforced and the number of staff members present at our location will be limited.
We expect that this reduced capacity, the restrictions placed on express shipments, and the circumstances at delivery points might result in some delays. In addition, due to import and export constraints, certain products from our inventory may be out of stock. If an item is unavailable, we will provide you with the best alternative available. Should you have any questions about outstanding product orders, feel free to contact us.

Stay-home/work-safe order for Scandia Gear Houston
To slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), Scandia Gear the Americas, our Houston location, will be under a stay-home/work-safe order from March 24th to April 3rd. Based on the current order we expect to be operational again on Monday April 6th, 2020.
Deliveries will be scheduled from April 7th onwards. Given the importance of shipping and maritime commerce, we will continue to do everything we can to ensure that our clients' crews have what they need to stay safe, healthy, and protected during this outbreak.
To that, we ask that you stay in contact with us and let us know how we can help.
Your Scandia team is available by telephone or e-mail. All e-mails, request for quotes and purchase orders will be handled and answered as normal.

Precautions to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19)
We have been following reporting concerning the coronavirus outbreak and have taken steps to limit coronavirus exposure among those our operations come in contact with worldwide. Since the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic, we have taken the following precautions:
As of Friday, March 13th, we no longer make product deliveries directly to vessels. Other shipments will continue in accordance with what is permitted by recipients’ countries. While our hope is to continue delivering shipments on time, we do anticipate delays. Please contact your Scandia representative by telephone or email to discuss the status of your orders.
As of Monday, March 16th, Scandia employees who can will work from home. At our Head Office location we started working in shifts. Our activities will continue, however we will not be able to guarantee the handling speed you are used to, due to halved occupancy. Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience.
In-person meetings will be postponed until April 6th in accordance with coronavirus prevention guidelines. Please consider conference calls and video conferencing as alternatives.
These decisions are grounded in our commitments to corporate social responsibility and to the continued health and well-being of our employees, clients, and the workforces we outfit, equip, and protect.

Coronavirus outbreak causes delays in product manufacturing and shipping.
Due to cautionary measures taken in response to the coronavirus outbreak, Scandia product production has slowed.
Although production is starting again, please expect some delays in product shipping and delivery. For items that are currently delayed or unavailable, we will, when possible, provide dependable alternatives.
